Moss Point man sentenced to 17 years for felony child abuse

A Moss Point man will spend the next 17 years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to felony child abuse in Harrison County on Wednesday. District Attorney Joel Smith said 30-year-old Terry Lee Seaman’s case was set to go to trial when he decided to enter the guilty plea.

Smith said Seaman was arrested in 2012 after Long Beach Police were called to Memorial Hospital where a 5-month-old infant was being treated for fractures in one leg and both arms. Doctors determined the injuries were not accidental.

Smith said investigators determined Seaman left the infant in his car while the child’s mother was at work. When the mother returned home from work, she found bruises on the child and rushed the infant to the emergency room.
