Here’s an ugly example of why we’re not done fixing the child-welfare system.
An abusive foster father pleaded guilty last week to sexual abuse and molestation. He’ll be sentenced Nov. 20 for crimes revealed in 2011. The state will punish him. Harshly, we hope.
Old news? Not entirely. The child-welfare system continues to fall short on oversight of foster kids. Just as it did was a decade ago, when the last major reform was supposed to turn the system around.
